Branch & Teleworker
Solutions for Branches of One to Many
Distributed enterprise organizations recognize the need to provide branch offices and teleworkers with campus-like access to corporate resources in order to achieve operational excellence. But until now, they have been held hostage to the high cost and complexity of traditional branch office networking equipment.
Aruba's cloud-based Virtual Branch Networking (VBN) solution provides a fast and affordable way to extend main office services to branch office and teleworker locations, without dispatching IT personnel. By centralizing management and network services in public and private clouds and simplifying the edge device in the branch office, Aruba's VBN solution delivers the functionality of always-on infrastructure at a cost close to client VPN.
- Smaller branch offices and retail stores need full-service always-on connectivity, but lack local IT staff. Aruba's RAP-5 Remote Access Point family is ideal for such offices, with multiple NAC-enabled LAN ports, role-based access control through an embedded firewall, 3G cellular uplink options, built-in application acceleration, content security, and optional 802.11a/b/g/n wireless networking. A RAP device can be shipped in factory-default state to a site manager who needs only plug in power and a broadband Ethernet or 3G cellular connection. Best of all there's no client software to install or manage.
- Larger branch offices are ideally served by Aruba's Branch Office Controller family. These compact devices act as a "branch network in a box," with local Ethernet switching, routing, wireless LAN, firewall, site-to-site VPN, and USB network-attached storage and print server functionality. Unlike router-based solutions, Branch Office Controllers do not require extensive configuration, relying instead on the centralized AirWave Management Platform to provide consistent policy and visibility. This architecture significantly reduces IT overhead, and minimizes the cost and complexity of installing and maintaining remote sites.
- Teleworkers need solutions that work from home with plug-and-play simplicity that secures network resources without complicating access. Aruba's RAP-2WG is a low-cost and small device that extends the enterprise LAN into an employee's home. The solution eliminates the need for VPN client software, solves the security vs. usability "split tunneling" compromise, and makes remote voice-over-IP phones a reality. The RAP-2WG is very cost-effective for individual users and sites that need to support just a handful of devices.
Aruba VBN solutions range from branches of one to branches of many. Best of all, with native support for user mobility, employees are able to move from headquarters to branch or home offices and enjoy consistent full-function access to applications without any compromise or complexity.
